A book that my wife had suggested to me, Castle Waiting a graphic novel of the beefiest proportions at 472 pages turned out to be a engaging and light read with plenty of jokes. Publishers Weekly calls it in a starred review Sleeping Beauty extended into a modern, feminist Chaucer for happy people.
Talking animals, bearded ladies, women escaping thier abusive husbands, all revolving around a castle encircled by a thicket of brambles. A safehaven for all the people, or otherwise, trying to escape something bad. Plenty of jokes, excellant art, and an interesting story about bearded nuns make this an excellant read. Castle Waiting
