Castle Waiting by Linda Medley Vol. 1

A book that my wife had suggested to me, Castle Waiting a graphic novel of the beefiest proportions at 472 pages turned out to be a engaging and light read with plenty of jokes. Publishers Weekly calls it in a starred review Sleeping Beauty extended into a modern, feminist Chaucer for happy people.

Talking animals, bearded ladies, women escaping thier abusive husbands, all revolving around a castle encircled by a thicket of brambles. A safehaven for all the people, or otherwise, trying to escape something bad. Plenty of jokes, excellant art, and an interesting story about bearded nuns make this an excellant read.
